Zwanze Day is Saturday, September 28th, 2019!
Schera's is proud to host Cantillon Zwanze Day 2019. One of the most anticipated annual releases in the world of beer, the Zwanze Day beer from Cantillon is only available on tap at 70 locations throughout the world on one day only (one of only 28 in the US!). Brewer Jean van Roy at Cantillon, the premiere lambic brewery in the world, creates a unique beer for each Zwanze Day.
We are delighted to announce Ken Schramm, the founder of Schramm's Mead and author of the bible of mead-making The Compleat Meadmaker, will be joining us for this year's Zwanze Day celebration. Ken is considered by experts and connoisseurs alike as the authority on mead, and Schramm's meads are consistently ranked as the #1 meads on rating sites such at BeerAdvocate and Ratebeer. Even more exciting, Ken will be bringing several kegs of his outstanding, award-winning meads for you to experience at Zwanze on September 28, 2019. Finding Schramm's Mead on tap is an ultra rare occurrence; to find multiple offerings in one place outside of Ferndale, Michigan is completely unheard of! Zwanze 2019 will be the first time Schramm's comes to Iowa, heralding it's arrival to the state, and making us one of only a small handful of markets where it is available. Don't miss out on this chance to meet a true giant of the craft industry. Signed copies of his book The Compleat Meadmaker will be available for advance purchase.
Due to the nature of the event, and to ensure everyone has a great experience, a limited number of tickets will be made available. We expect the event will be similar to last year, as outlined below. Details below are to the best of our knowledge at this point; however until the beer is in our hands, we cannot make many guarantees other that date, time, and place. Therefore, details are subject to change without prior notice. What I do know is that we will try our best to makes this a truly outstanding event! Also, please dress accordingly. Last year it was the weather was frigid, there year before it was boiling. There will be several fresh water stations located throughout the event space.

16. Once again we will be having a patio pre-party on the night before Zwanze. All your food and beer is included for your admission fee at the door. Last year we featured some great Eastern Iowan breweries, and we hope to do so again this year. This party is super-chill and a great way to start out the weekend.
